Aaron Jenkins

Aaron Jenkins is the CEO of North Star Strategies. A community change agent, Aaron has worked with leaders at every level of government.

Aaron was appointed by President Barack Obama to direct the White House Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the United States Department of Commerce. Aaron has executive experience across the public and non-profit sectors, including the United States Senate, the Council of the District of Columbia and Operation Understanding DC (OUDC). He is a fourth generation Washingtonian. In 2016, accepted his call to ministry and became a licensed minister at New Solid Rock Church Ministries.

 

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College in Political Science. In 2013, he completed an Executive Leadership Program called the Masters Series of Distinguished Leaders (MSDL). Led by Rev. Dr. Barbara Williams Skinner, MSDL develops and trains high impact executives in areas of global leadership development and community service. Recently, he was selected for the Pahara NextGen Fellowship, an intensive, twelve-month leadership development program that, “identifies and develops a diverse group of exceptional emerging senior leaders with the potential to strengthen and shape the future of the educational excellence and equity movement.”

 

As a first-generation college student, K-12 and collegiate education is extremely important to Aaron. He honors this commitment as the President of the Abramson Scholarship Foundation. Based in Washington, DC, the organization provides scholarships and mentoring program to first-generation high school graduates from DC Public and Charter Schools. You can find Aaron teaching Sunday School to the youth of New Solid Rock, reading to and playing with his niece Gianni and lending his voice, time and talent to social justice causes. His favorite scripture is Luke 12:48, “To whom much is given, much is required.”
